Police arrest man with 260 fake documents
A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday night in Athens' Agios Panteleimonas district after police discovered 260 suspected counterfeit travel documents.
Police officers stopped the man as part of an investigation into forged document trafficking. During a search, they found 44 passports and 216 ID cards of questionable authenticity in a plastic bag.

Turkish national arrested in Athens following pursuit
A Turkish national of Kurdish origin was arrested on Monday in the Agios Panteleimonas area of central Athens following a police pursuit.
The incident began when an SUV with two occupants failed to comply with a police signal to stop, prompting a chase. At one point, the two suspects attempted to escape on foot but police officers managed to apprehend one of them.
Police arrest 40-year-old on drug trafficking charges
Police arrested a 40-year-old man Friday in the central Athens neighborhood of Agios Panteleimonas on drug trafficking charges.
Police officers, acting on intelligence from local security teams, found the suspect in possession of various drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine and mephedrone, as well as 200 euros in cash.

A preliminary investigation is underway by the Agios Panteleimonas Security Department concerning the death on September 21 of a 37-year-old Pakistani national, Muhammad Kamran Ashiq, inside the police station of the central Athens neighborhood.

Greek police reclaimed a building and one apartment from illegal squatters Wednesday as part of continuing efforts to evict so-called "collectives," often anarchists who systematically appropriate abandoned buildings and residences.
Police evacuates two occupied buildings in Athens center
Police evacuated two occupied buildings on Wednesday morning in the Exarchia and Agios Panteleimonas areas of Athens.
Among other things, the police confiscated three banners, 28 wooden sticks, eight gas masks and nine helmets.
Police also remanded eight people in Agios Panteleimonas, who were found in a close distance to the occupied building.
Police evacuate squats in Athens
Police conducted an evacuation of a squatted public building in the neighborhood of Agios Panteleimonas during a raid on Wednesday morning. Eight individuals were detained during the operation at the so-called Zizania squat. This marks the third police raid on the same building, following previous actions in 2021 and 2023.

Woman arrested for housing, extorting irregular migrants
A 34-year-old woman was arrested in central Athens on January 31 for operating an informal hostel hiding migrants who had entered Greece illegally.
According to the police, officers conducting a raid in a house in the area of Agios Panteleimonas found seven migrants living there who lacked the required legal documents.
Man arrested for murder of transgender woman
A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection to the murder of a 45-year-old transgender woman from Cuba in the Agios Panteleimonas neighborhood of Athens on July 10.
Her body was found in her ground-floor apartment by her landlady, who went to collect the rent.
The victim had been living in Greece for the last four years and was working in a popular nightclub.
