Old Hellenikon Airport to be turned into a dumpster!
Alt. Finance Minister Nadia Valavani issued a decision concerning the government’s plans for Hellenikon International Airport at the Agios Kosmas Seafront. Contrary to dreams for the 12-acred site to be turned into the biggest park in Europe, the airport will be used to serve the countries waste management needs.
Portion of Elliniko site to accommodate trash, says alternate finance minister
The prospects for one of Greece?s few privatization projects, the development of the old Athens Airport plot at Elliniko, appeared unclear Wednesday, after Alternate Finance Minister Nadia Valavani said a small portion of the plot would be set aside to create waste management facilities for four municipalities.

Police seek five robbers who broke in to Alimos home
A man and his two sons were tied up by robbers that broke into their home in Alimos, southern Athens, early on Tuesday.
According to police, the five robbers forced open a balcony door at around 3.20 a.m. and threatened the three victims with a firearm.

Two arrests after southern Athens nightclub failed to issue receipts
Two people have been arrested for failing to issue receipts at a nightclub in Alimos, southern Athens, the Financial Police said on Monday.
The clubs managing director and manager were arrested after checks revealed that the establishment had failed to issue 1,400 euros worth of receipts to customers.
The two men are due to be charged for tax offenses.
