Novi Sad named 2019 European Youth Capital
NOVI SAD - Novi Sad was named the 2019 European Youth Capital in Varna, Bulgaria, on Wednesday evening.
"After winning the 2021 European Culture Capital title, Novi Sad won again in Varna, Bulgaria, and we were named the 2019 European Youth Capital. A double for Novi Sad", Mayor Milos Vucevic told Tanjug.

60 Ships Stranded Near Belene Island
A total of 60 ships have been stranded near the Belene island because of the low water level of the Danube, announced the Maritime Administration Executive Agency.
This is the most critical area right now and there are problems with normal shipping. In order to ensure order and safety, a patrol boat has been sent to the area.

Britain's Prince Charles on Thursday visited the Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Kovilj, in the province of Vojvodina.
The monks there produce organic honey and brandy, Beta agency has reported.

Bulgarian Captain 'Found Dead' near Vienna
The lifeless body of a Bulgarian national has been found in the Danube river near Vienna, an Austrian daily writes.
Aleksi Aleksiev, 62, was the captain of a cargo ship, according to Kleine Zeitung.
Police found his body around midday on Tuesday near the site where his ship, St Nikola, had dropped anchor.

Tens of cargo ships have been waiting near Belene in order to make the passage through the shallow waters, private bTV station informs.

A child has gone missing in the waters of the Danube river near the Bulgarian city of Ruse on Tuesday.
Three children were bathing in the river in the area of the so-called "Horse beach" under the Riga hotel.
The children were bathing in the forbidden area, when one of them went missing, Darik radio reports.

Energy Minister: There is no conflict between Romania and Serbia on situation at Iron Gates
Romanian and Serbian experts are seeking solutions to ensure the electricity production at the Iron Gates, so that there aren't any excesses that could determine the accentuated decrease in the Danube water levels and that could lead to environment and navigation issues, Energy Minister Andrei Gerea announced on Wednesday.
