Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam has been wounded in the leg and arrested in a police raid in the Molenbeek area of Brussels.

“We got him,” the Belgian secretary of state for asylum and migration tweeted, confirming reports of Belgian media that claimed that Abdeslam had been caught alive.

French police have arrested four people suspected of planning imminent terror attacks in Paris, French TV channel TF1  reported on Wednesday.  

Three men and one women were arrested at dawn in Paris and the nearby suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis.

French domestic security service DGSI had files on the four suspects for links to radical Islam, TF1 said on its website.

The anti-terrorist operation in the Belgian capital, which began on Tuesday, is continuing on Wednesday.

According to local media, gun fires were heard in an apartment.

A police officer was injured during the raid, though it was unclear whether he was hit by gunfire, a police spokeswoman said, as cited by Reuters.

Belgian police have found three belts for possible use in suicide attacks, traces of explosives and a fingerprint of wanted Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam at a Brussels flat, prosecutors said Jan. 8.

Sixteen people have been detained after an hours-long police operation in Brussels on Sunday, Belgian police have confirmed.

Most media outlets quote officials as saying that Salah Abdeslam, the man sought over the attacks in Paris last Friday, is not among the detained.
