Prayers sung together by Christians and Muslims in southern Turkey
Leading religious figures from the Christian and Muslim communities in the southern province of Mersin have sung prayers together for all the deceased regardless of their religions in the Mersin City Cemetery.
Golden Boll Film Festival cancels ceremonies
Adana Mayor Hüseyin Sözlü announced on Sept. 8 the opening and closing ceremonies of the 22nd Golden Boll Film Festival, to be held between Sept. 14 and 20 in the southern province of Adana, have been canceled because of the recent terror attacks in the country. All festival events were also canceled.

Two British VICE News journalists to be deported

Political party officials detained for gambling in Turkey's south
Turkish police have raided a political party headquarters in southern Turkey, detaining seven people, including the party's provincial head, for gambling.
Three ISIL-linked Russians arrested in southern Turkey
Three Russian members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have been arrested in the southern province of Adana.
"Three foreign nationals believed to be ISIL members have been arrested by the Adana Provincial Gendarmerie Command in Adana's Yumurtal?k district," the Turkish General Staff said in a written statement on Aug 9.
Turkish swingers face up to 177 years in jail
A total of 29 people suspected of being part of a prostitution ring notorious for organizing swinger parties in Turkey's southern province of Adana are facing up to 177 years in prison on charges including "prostitution," "organizing a crime syndicate" and "human trafficking."

Four prosecutors arrested in Syria-bound intel trucks case transferred to Ankara
The four prosecutors who ordered the stopping and searching of Syria-bound intelligence trucks in January 2014 and were later arrested on charges of attempting to topple the government, were transferred to Ankara late Aug. 2, from Turkey's southern district of Tarsus.
Political party officials fined for gambling in Turkey's south
Eight officials from a political party along with 87 others have been fined for gambling after police raided the office of a party in the southern province of Adana late July 28, less than a year after police raided the same location on similar allegations.
