Horowitz: CPAC’s disinvitation to Milo an assault on free speech

In the wake of controversial comments unearthed from a podcast that seemed to defend sexual relationships between young teenagers and adults under certain circumstances, Breitbart editor and gay libertarian firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos was disinvited by CPAC as the keynote speaker at its upcoming event and lost his lucrative book deal from Simon & Schuster.

Mio Yiannopoulos loses book deal

Right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos’ publisher has cancelled his planned book, “Dangerous.”
Simon & Schuster and its Threshold Editions imprint announced Monday that “after careful consideration” they had pulled the book, which had been high on Amazon.com’s best-seller lists and was the subject of intense controversy.

Universal Basic Income

There's a new idea that might be the solution to runaway populism. Well, it's not that new, really - it has been kicking around in left-wing circles for a least a quarter-century - but it has suddenly gone mainstream. It's called Universal Basic Income (UBI), and pilot programmes to see if it really works in practice are being launched this year in four different countries.

Turkey's dance

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar could be seen as a return to the bad old Sunni alliance against Iran in the region. For the time being, it is not clear if the move is part of a Turkish governmental attempt to influence the new U.S. administration, or a response to U.S. President Donald Trump's new Mideast policy.

Imagine it: tons and tons of debris sent into the atmosphere, circling the planet for years. All the fuss about NATO is part of that cloud that's tossed up into the air.
