Allegations that Doğan Holding sold land to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) at a cheap price as a favor to the Gülenists is false, the Doğan Group's deputy chairman responsible for corporate communications, Ahter Kutadgu, has said, commenting on recent reports by pro-government dailies Sabah and Takvim. 

Linking Doğan Group to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), the suspected network behind the July 15 foiled coup attempt, is out of reason and conscience, Doğan Group's deputy chairman responsible for corporate communications, Ahter Kutadgu, has said, commenting on the detentions of Doğan Holding Chief Legal Advisor Erem Turgut Yücel and the holding's former executive Yahya Üzdiyen.<

Doğan Holding Honorary Chair Aydın Doğan called on the Turkish media on Jan. 5 to unite against terror, recalling that the media principles adopted by his group were strictly against such acts no matter where they come from.

Most of the public officials who were involved in levying a massive tax fine against the Doğan Group in the late 2000s have been dismissed due to alleged links to the Gülenist organization, according to officials from the media group.

Doğan Holding's Ankara representative, Barbaros Muratoğlu, has been detained on the grounds that "he was in contact with certain people who have FETÖ [Fethullahist Terror Organization] connections."  

A prosecutor's office in Istanbul, which ordered the detention of Doğan Group's Ankara representative, Barbaros Muratoğlu, has cited articles published in two pro-government newspapers as evidence, daily Hürriyet has learned. 

The Doğan Group has released a statement rejecting reports that an "operation" has been conducted against Doğan Holding after its Ankara representative, Barbaros Muratoğlu, was detained in Ankara early on Dec. 1.

Muratoğlu's detention came after daily Akşam editor-in-chief Murat Kelkitlioğlu leveled a series of accusations claiming he was linked to the Gülen movement 10 days ago.

Muratoğlu, who was detained at his residence at 6 a.m. on Dec. 1, will be transferred to Istanbul.

Muratoğlu was detained as part of the investigation into the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), some media reports said.
