PM:Foundations of independent journalism vital for democracy
BELGRADE - Truth, freedom and justice, as the foundations of independent journalism and professional ethic, are a major factor in Serbia's democratic development, outgoing Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said in a message to media representatives on occasion of the Serbian Journalists' Day.
Serbia to mark World Theatre Day
BELGRADE - Serbia will on Thursday mark the World Theatre Day, March 27, with diverse programmes and a traditional message read out before theatre performances.
The World Theatre Day was established in 1962, on the day when the Theatre of Nations was opened in Paris.

On March 27, 1791 (according to the Julian calendar - March 14 in the Gregorian) the first newspaper printed in Serbian came off the presses.
Greek New Wave artist Lakis Pappas dies aged 76
Lakis Pappas, one of the leading singers of Greeces so-called New Wave, died on Wednesday at the age of 76.
Pappas worked with composer Manos Hatzidakis in the early 1960s and gradually became drawn to the New Wave style, which emerged in the mid-1960s and combined Greek music with French chansons.

Veselin Panteleev-Eschkenazy: I Love Impossible Causes
Veselin Panteleev-Eschkenazy was born in a family of musicians. At the age of 11, he became a concertmaster of the youth philharmonic of Professor Vladi Simeonov. He graduated the National Music Academy in Sofia. In 1990, he moved to London, where he completed a masters degree for solo performers. He is a laureate of international violin competitions in Beijing and London.
Hugh Laurie To Play In Sofia
Hugh Laurie and his The Copper Bottom Band will have a concert in Sofia on July 11.
Laurie, who shot into world fame with his role as Dr. Gregory House in the "House M.D." TV series, issued his debut blues album “Let Them Talk” in 2011.
