No spot to sunbathe for free in Turkey's famous Fethiye
There are no spots to sunbathe free of charge in one of Turkey's most famous resort towns, Fethiye, located in the southwestern province of Muğla.
The issue of cabin-tents for private rental on the beaches had previously come to the agenda when people could not find spots to sunbathe on Kumburnu beach in Ölüdeniz, one of the most famous coves in the world.
Forest fire destroys 10 decares of land in Turkey's touristic Fethiye district
Some 10 decares of forest land was destroyed by a fire on Aug. 24 in the Fethiye district of the Aegean province of Muğla, a local forestry official has stated.
The fire, which broke out at around 3:40 p.m in a forested area above Karaot Beach in the Yanıklar neighborhood, was taken under control after firefighters battled for two hours to extinguish the fire.
Athenian monument opens to public after restoration
A view of the archaeological site of the Roma Agora in central Athens where restoration work was completed last week on the 17th century Fethiye Mosque. The building is now accessible to the public. It was built around 1670 on the ruins of a Christian basilica dating to the 8th or 9th century and was considered an important architectural monument.
British FM Boris Johnson 'secretly' arrives at Turkish resort in Göcek for family vacation
British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and his family came to Turkey on holiday last week. Johnson, his wife, and his four children secretly landed at the Dalaman airport and arrived at the Turkish resort in Muğla's Göcek via a gulet sailboat.
Johnson and his family visited the bays of Göcek, Dalyan, and Fethiye during the week and took a swim in the various Aegean bays.

An 87-year-old local woman has impressed social media with her paragliding skills in the Aegean province of Muğla, Doğan News Agency reported on May 21.
Russian tourist dies in parachute accident in Turkey's Fethiye
A Russian tourist died on May 5 in a parachute accident in the Aegean resort of Fethiye, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The 26-year-old Anastasia Zakharova came to Fethiye for both vacation and parachute training. She climbed to the Babadağ Mountain at around 10:30 a.m. and made a solo jump from the 1,700 meter court.

Fethiye's ancient tombs cleaned up
The 2,400 year-old tombs surrounded by garbage and weeds in the ancient city of Telmessos in the touristic southwestern province of Mu?la's Fethiye district have been cleaned up after negative reactions.
As part of the clean-up, two trucks of garbage were removed by the Fethiye Museum Directorate and the Fethiye Municipality.
