Minister warns bakers not weighing fresh bread will be fined
Deputy Development Minister Gerasimos Giakoumatos warned on Monday that bakers not abiding by a new law requiring them to weigh fresh bread before they sell it would face fines.
Giakoumatis said that authorities would be checking if bakeries are weighing their bread after the law came into force on Monday.

BELGRADE -- Rasim Ljajić has said that he does not expect price hikes starting in the fall despite the damage the severe floods caused to the field of agriculture.
“We will have wheat and corn enough for exports, and good sunflower and fruit yields,” the minister of trade said in an interview to Tanjug.

There is a term in Turkish, very much repeated every mid-summer in Istanbul that can be translated as âto go nuts;â not in the sense of losing oneâs mind, but leaving for the countryside for the hazelnut harvest. Many hazelnut growers have links with Istanbul, as most have jobs in the service sector, but when it is the season for hazelnut picking, it is hard to keep them in the city.
