Man, 55, shoots and kills two dogs

A 55-year-old man from Lambrino, Xanthi, northeastern Greece, was expected to face a prosecutor on Monday on misdemeanor charges after he was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing two dogs with a hunting rifle that belonged to his 27-year-old son.

Early reports suggested the suspect killed the dogs and subsequently buried one of them in his yard.

Wounded birds under rehabilitation in Van

Six hawks and two eagles that have been receiving treatment over the past two months at the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Wild Life Protection and Rehabilitation Center are now waiting to be released back into the wild.

Located on the university campus, the center gives treatment to wounded or sick animals under the direction of Professor Lokman Aslan.
