Man, 55, shoots and kills two dogs
A 55-year-old man from Lambrino, Xanthi, northeastern Greece, was expected to face a prosecutor on Monday on misdemeanor charges after he was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing two dogs with a hunting rifle that belonged to his 27-year-old son.
Early reports suggested the suspect killed the dogs and subsequently buried one of them in his yard.

Nationwide hunting season opens August 20
The new hunting season will run from August 20 to February 28 next year, authorities have decided.
The only exception to this will be rabbit hunting, which can be carried out until March 10.
There are three types of hunting licenses local, regional and general which cost up to 157 euros.

Wounded birds under rehabilitation in Van
Six hawks and two eagles that have been receiving treatment over the past two months at the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Wild Life Protection and Rehabilitation Center are now waiting to be released back into the wild.
Located on the university campus, the center gives treatment to wounded or sick animals under the direction of Professor Lokman Aslan.

Hunting Association: Great damage to wildlife
BELGRADE - The floods in Serbia have covered an area of 900,000 ha and caused great damage to wildlife, the Hunting Association of Serbia said on Wednesday.
The most populated areas where, rabbits, birds and deer are present were hit the hardest, and during the reproductive season.

Albania to Toughen Environmental Crime Penalties
The minister said Albania had already “consolidated legal framework on the environment, but criminal sentences for those who break the law should be increased.
“The current measures are not enough,” he told an international conference on the environment held in Tirana.
