Turkey listed as second in government requests for data from Facebook

Turkey is second in the world in terms of the amount of content restricted on Facebook due to government requests, following India, according to the social media site's Global Government Requests Report, which includes information about content removal.

A slight increase in government requests for account data in the second half of 2014 was recorded, the report also said.

Serbian Police Probe Mass Data Theft Claim

Police are investigating claims by a group of hackers that they have got hold of data on everyone in the country.

"We have whole Serbia in our hands. We have almost all information about Serbian citizens, starting from their ID numbers to information on what they do, where they live and what are their phone numbers," the hackers wrote in an email sent to the media on Thursday.

Sharing personal photos on social media is inappropriate according to Islam, Turkey’s Directorate for Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has announced.

“It is improper in religion for a person to expose their privacy on virtual platforms and share it with other people,” the Diyanet said in its monthly magazine, according to daily Habertürk.
