Greek President, Prime Minister are vaccinated
President Katerina Sakellaropoulou was vaccinated against the coronavirus Sunday afternoon.
"This Christmas, science gave us the greatest gift," Sakellaropoulou said after her vaccination shortly after 2 pm Sunday.
Sakellaropoulou is the first of 45 state officials whose vaccination was given priority to keep the machinery of state operating smothly.

First vaccinations in Greece on Sunday afternoon
The first vaccinations against the coronavirus in Greece are expected to take place Sunday, starting with an intensive care unit nurse.
Efstathia Kambissiouli will be vaccinated at 1 p.m. at central Athens' Evangelismos hospital, followed half an hour later by Michalis Giovanidis, a nursing home resident.

President visits sole inhabitant of Kinaros
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Wednesday visited the remote border island of Kinaros, where she met with its only inhabitant, Katerina Katsotourhi.
Located in the west of the islands of Leros and Amorgos, Kinaros is the second western-most island of the Dodecanese after Astypalea, and its coastline measures only 4.5 square kilometers.

Sakellaropoulou to visit Kinaros on Wednesday
President Katerina Sakellaropoulou will on Wednesday visit the remote island of Kinaros in the southeastern Aegean.
Sakellaropoulou will meet with the tiny island's sole inhabitant, the 74-year-old Rinio Katsotourchi.
In a public health message issued on Tuesday, Sakellaropoulou urged Greeks to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Greek PM says to receive Covid-19 vaccine on Dec 27
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Monday he planned to receive a Covid-19 vaccine jab on December 27, kicking off a national roll-out over the following months.
President and PM to meet Monday
President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet Monday.
The meeting will take place at 11 am, at the President's office.
