North Macedonia Marks Anniversary of Deal to End Internal Conflict
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, North Macedonia this year decided against holding a traditional banquet to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the historic 2001 Ohrid Peace Accord which ended a short-lived conflict that year by granting more rights to the country's ethnic Albanians.
Former Macedonian PM Gruevski "disappears"
His party, the opposition VMRO-DPMNE, says that he is not with them.
Gruevski did not respond to serving a two-year prison sentence, which is why the police are now searching for him.
Gruevski was sentenced to two years in prison for abusing official position to illegally acquire an armored Mercedes.

The referendum also concerns confirming an agreement reached between Skopje and Athens to rename the former Yugoslav Republic into "the Republic of North Macedonia."

Turkey supports the accession of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO. This was stated by Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım during today's meeting with Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, who is on an official visit to Ankara, reported BNT.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrives on an official visit to the Republic of Macedonia, the government's press service in Skopje said.
Stoltenberg will stay two days in the Macedonian capital - today and tomorrow. During his visit he will have meetings with the heads of our western neighbor, ministers, and with the leaders of some political parties.
