Greek concern over FYROM constitutional proposals

The government of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) submitted draft constitutional amendments to Parliament on Friday that would formally rename the country "North Macedonia" under the name deal signed with Greece, but Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos has reportedly expressed reservations about an article that hints at a Macedonian people. 

Name deal inches forward as Athens-Skopje flights start

The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is on Friday expected to present his government's proposed amendments to the country's constitution. The amendments are necessary for the ratification of the name deal signed with Greece in June under which the Balkan nation will be called North Macedonia.

Macedonia Minister Quits Amid Child's Death Case Protests

About 1,000 people, mostly ethnic Albanians, protested on Wednesday in front of the Macedonian government building in Skopje, outraged by the prosecution's last minute decision to drop charges of premeditated murder against an ethnic Macedonian who slammed his car into a four-year old ethnic Albanian child in 2016.
