The Romania - NATO expert meeting taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Bucharest is an important stage in the analysis of defence capabilities under the NATO defence planning process, the National Defence Ministry (MApN) said in a release.

Approximately 3,500 troops and specialists from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior and the Romanian Intelligence Service are going to participate on December 1, alongside troops from several allied or partner countries, in the military parade organized in celebration of Romania's National Day, at the Triumph Arch Square, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced

The National Defence minister, Mircea Dusa is going to visit on Tuesday the Fetesti 86 Airbase in order to assess the stage of the rehabilitation and modernization works of the aircrafts' runways, a press release by the relevant ministry informs.

The Day of War Veterans was celebrated on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), in the presence of Defence Minister Mircea Dusa in a show featuring folk songs performed by well-known artists of the genre, such as Veta Biris, Gheorghe Rosoga, Sava Negrean Brudascu.

Defence Minister Mircea Dusa on Tuesday at the headquarters of the MApN [Ministry of National Defence] had a meeting with the Lithuanian Ambassador in Bucharest, Arvydas Pocius, on which occasion they talked about the security on the NATO's eastern flank and the bilateral cooperation in the defence field.

Over 2,800 military and 280 combat vehicles with the National Defence Ministry (MApN), the Interior Affairs Ministry (MAI), the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the Dignitaries' Protection Service (SPP) have marched on Monday in the Constitution Square, central Bucharest, in a parade dedicated to the National Day of Romania.

Romanian Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa assured U.S. Under Secretary of Defence for Intelligence, Dr. Michael G. Vickers that Romania maintains firm position on developing the relations with the U.S. in the defence field, under the "Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century."
