Nord Stream Shuts Down for 10 days due to Planned Repairs

Russian gas deliveries via Nord Stream - the main pipeline for gas exports from Russia to Europe - will be temporarily suspended from this morning until July 21 due to planned annual maintenance work on the pipeline. In this way, natural gas from Russia will continue to enter Western and Central Europe through only one transit line through Ukraine.

From Today: Bulgaria to begin Receiving Full Quantities of Gas under the Contract with Azerbaijan

Starting today, Bulgaria will start receiving the entire quantities of natural gas under the contract with Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy informed BNR. However, this will not happen through the Bulgarian-Greek gas connection, but at the temporary delivery point Nea Mesimvria. The interconnector is expected to be ready in the fall, according to the ministry's response.

Turkey to launch TurkStream on January 8

Turkey will launch TurkStream natural gas pipeline next month, energy and natural resources minister said on Dec. 27.

"We will launch TurkStream on Jan. 8. We will be indispensable in international markets with natural gas pipelines coming from both the east and north," said Fatih Dönmez in a meeting in the northwestern Bilecik province.

Both Sections of the TurkStream Pipeline Are Filled with Gas

The Turkish Stream gas pipeline will be commissioned by the end of 2019, with both legs filled with gas, Daily Sabah reported.

Gazprom announced in a press release that the filling of the pipes marks the last stage before commissioning, which is to carry Russian natural gas under Black Sea waters to Turkey and from there to the European Union and Southeast European countries.
