Nikos Androulakis has won the runoff for the leadership of the socialist PASOK party, with nearly 60% of the vote.
Androulakis' rival, Athens mayor Haris Doukas, called to congratulate him before the results were finalized Sunday night.
According to the final results, Androul;akis got 125,820 votes, or 59.92% of the valid ballots. Doukas got 84,149 (40.08%).

“We managed in 3.5 months to make a clean and honest fight and create a strong current,” said Charis Doukas, who congratulated Nikos Androulakis on his victory.
“I will continue to fight for our principles and values, with unity, with everyone’s participation, for a big, strong PASOK that can win,” the Athens mayor said.
