Greek govt critical of EU pressures: Belgium asks for camps of 300-400,000 refugees in Athens

Alternate Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas on Monday criticized pressures on Greece concerning the refugee crisis, adding that Greece’s exclusion from the Schengen Zone would not solve any problems. He instructed the European Commission to explore a procedure to extend temporary internal border checks within the Schengen area for up to two years.

Citizen Protection Minister visits Tae Kwon Do stadium after migrant bickering

Greek Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Toskas paid a visit to the Tae Kwon Do indoor stadium that Greek authorities have transformed into a hospitality center for migrants. The minister visited the shelter on Saturday following an outbreak of violence and bickering between Moroccan migrants and other groups that forced police to intervene.

Tension among immigrants at Tae Kwon Do

Episodes occurred among the immigrants who were transferred from Idomeni, north Greece’s borders to Tae Kwon Do stadium in Athens.

On Saturday morning police officers had to intervene when the immigrants started fighting each other. Police arrested about 100 people, while the groups responsible for the episodes were isolated from the other immigrants.
