Mayor of Bulgaria's Pazardzhik Faces Corruption Accusations

In the period between 2007 and 2014, over 5,000 deals connected to selling of municipal properties and assets at prices lower than the market ones have been contracted in Pazardzhik.

The statement was made by municipal consul Rumen Petkov, representative of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) in an interview for bTV Thursday.

Bulgaria Vice President: Army Should Guard Border alongside Police

The army should help the Interior Ministry to patrol along the Bulgaria-Turkey border by deploying troops there, Bulgarian Vice-President Margarita Popova has said.

The National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) has demanded  urgent reforms in municipal legislation from the next government.

Speaking in Pazardzhik, NAMRB Chair Todor Popov demanded greater decentralization and efficient local self governance.
