Bulgaria's consumer prices fell 0.9% year-on-year in December, the statistical office said on Wednesday.

Compared to November 2014, Bulgaria's December consumer price index (CPI) was unchanged, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

The food prices in Russia have risen significantly, reports the Nezavisimaya Gazeta daily, quoting data of the Russian Statistics Service.

Inflation is also rising - the data as of the beginning of December shows that the annual inflation has reached 9.4%.

Consumer prices have dropped by 0.2 percent in November when compared to the previous month given the price decrease by 0.3 percent for food and non-food products and the 0.2 percent increase in the prices of services.

Consumer prices steady, says ministry

BELGRADE -- Consumer prices dropped by 0.2 percent in October as the trend of steady prices continued after an overall 2.2-percent increase in the first ten months of 2014.

Bulgaria's consumer prices rose 0.9% month on month in October after falling by 0.2% in each of the previous two months, the statistics office said in Wednesday.

Despite the fall in world commodity prices, primarily oil, in Turkey inflation rates cannot be pulled down to the desired level. Central Bank Governor Erdem Başçı announced the Inflation Report last week, saying that they had expected a fall in inflation in October, but the opposite happened.

The consumer price index in September compared to August was 99.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was-0.2%, the latest data revealed by Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute shows.

Bulgaria's consumer prices fell 0.6% year-on-year in August, marking the 13th straight month of deflation, official figures showed on Monday.

The drop in consumer prices, however, has slowed down for a third month running, compared to the hefty decline of over 2.5% in February 2014.

At 0.1 percent monthly, Turkey’s August inflation, which was published on Sept. 3, disappointed again by coming in slightly higher than expectations of 0 percent. Annual inflation rose from 9.3 to 9.5 percent.
