Police find another group of illegal migrants

BELGRADE -- The Serbian police have discovered a group of 15 foreign nationals who carried no personal documents on a highway near the town of Velika Plana.

The daily Blic writes that they are citizens of Syria, who told the officers that they avoided border crossings and crossed to Serbia from Macedonia on foot.

Zelezara Smederevo publishes call for new management

BELGRADE - Zelezara Smederevo issued a public call in Belgrade-based daily Politika on Friday for a new management, and until the closure of the public call on March 6, Zelezara will keep the current production capacities at 30,000 tons of steel monthly.

The deadline for the submission of proposals for cooperation and concluding of the agreement is March 6, reads the public call.

Privatisation Agency refutes Bouchard's statement

BELGRADE - The Privatisation Agency refuted the allegations voiced on Wednesday by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Esmark Europe BV James Bouchard who said that the negotiations on the takeover of Zelezara Smederevo steel mill failed because the Serbian side in the talks changed the previously agreed financial provisions.

BELGRADE -- With good will and good management, we will keep Zelezara Smederevo running for years, Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic said.

The negotiations on the sale of Zelezara were led by state interests and the concern for people's jobs, Sertic said for Radio and Television of Serbia late on Tuesday.
