Serbia invites bids for majority stake in Zelezara

BELGRADE - Serbia's Privatization Agency Friday sent out a public invitation to parties interested in becoming a strategic partner in Zelezara Smederevo by purchasing an 80.01 percent stake in the steel producer, with the state retaining ownership of the remaining 19.99 percent stake in the entity, to submit their bids by January 5, 2015.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian government decided on Thursday to initiate the privatization of the steel company Zelezara Smederevo.

It opted for the model of strategic partnership through added capitalization, and the method of public bidding.

The deadline for submission of offers is January 5, 2015.

BELGRADE - Ten bids for the privatisation of the government-owned steel company Zelezara Smederevo have been submitted, Serbian Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic stated on Wednesday and announced that the government would adopt the decision on the privatisation model in the next few days, after which it will issue a public call for participation in the privatisation process.

Nine companies interested in Zelezara steel company

BELGRADE - Potential investors have until midnight CET on Tuesday to file their letters of intent concerning the sale of the government-owned steel company Zelezara Smederevo, and so far, 9 companies have presented their letters, with the offer from the US company Esmark being seen as the best option, Radio and Television of Serbia has reported.
