Ex-national player arrested over failure to pay worker compensation
Former Greek national basketball team player Fanis Christodoulou was arrested and then bailed on the island of Paros on Friday after a court ordered him to pay 280,000 euros in compensation to an employee, money which the ex-athlete says he does not have.

This is what the Belgrade-based daily Večernje Novosti said it learned from a source close to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

Thousands of supporters greet Albania's team in Tirana
TIRANA - Several thousand supporters greeted Albania's football team at the airport in Tirana early Wednesday morning.
According to the AlbaniaSoccer website, a large number of supporters gathered at the airport to greet the team coached by Gianni De Biasi a few hours after the end of the Euro 2016 qualifier between Serbia and Albania.

Ranieri satisfied with Greece's showing
Greece coach Claudio Ranieri voiced his satisfaction with the performance of the national team in Helsinki's 1-1 draw with host Finland on Saturday for the 2016 European Championship qualifiers, saying the risk in pucking the squad he took was worth it, even though Greece did not get maximum points.

Croatia beat Bulgaria 1-0 in a Euro 2016 Group H qualifier in Sofia last night after an own goal from Nikolay Bodurov nine minutes before the break.
Croatia's Ivan Rakitic floated a free-kick into the penalty area and Ivan Perisic headed it down, only for Bodurov to send the ball into his own net.

Rosenberg confident after win over Olympiakos
Malmoe captain Markus Rosenberg scored twice in the Swedes' 2-0 win over Olympiakos on Wednesday and illustrated his confidence in the team after the game.
Rosenberg capitalized on slack defending to put his team ahead four minutes before halftime in the Group A match and sealed it with a strike in the 82nd minute.
