Erdogan, Putin to Discuss IS, Turkish Stream in Moscow

Islamic State and energy are set to dominate Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the Turkish head of state's visit to Moscow on Wednesday.

This comes as Ankara and Moscow are at odds over Russia's involvement in the Syrian conflict and the buildup of forces it has been carrying out in the past weeks.

Turkey and Germany agree on refugee policy

Turkey and Germany are in full consensus on the refugee crisis, Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlio?lu has said, adding Germany's views on the issue were the most similar to Turkey's among European countries.  
"Germany's attitude should be an example to others in Europe," Sinirlio?lu said, speaking at a press conference with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Turkish soldier killed by gunfire from across border with Syria

One soldier was killed on Sept. 9 as a result of a gunfire from across the Syrian border in the Reyhanl? district of Hatay province.

Infantryman Gökhan Çak?r, 21, was wounded at 2 a.m. as military personnel at the Cilvegözü border post were patrolling beside the Syrian border following a notice by soldiers on duty regarding a disturbance on the Syrian side. 

Free Syrian Army commander's car explodes in southeastern Turkey

A bomb placed in the car of a Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander has detonated in southeastern Turkey, while the commander is being treated for heavy injuries. 

An FSA commander identified as Cemil Radon was severely wounded when his car exploded at midday on Aug. 26 in Hatay province, on Turkey?s border with Syria.  

Turkish army says its vehicles came under fire from Syria in Turkey's south

Turkish military vehicles came under fire while on patrol near the Turkey-Syria border in the southern province of Hatay, apparently from the Syrian side, the Turkish General Staff announced in a written statement on July 15. It added border units immediately responded to the attack.
