Turkey’s new defense minister vows to protect ‘Blue Homeland’
Turkey's newly-appointed Defense Minister Yasar Guler has vowed to protect his country's interests and the "Blue Homeland," a revisionist doctrine expressing Ankara's expansionist ambitions in the Aegean.
The minister confirmed: They have been eliminated
Speaking at an iftar dinner in Kayseri province, Akar highlighted Turkey's fight against terrorism and said that the fight against terrorism continues resolutely.
He said that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is doing everything to protect the country's borders and its people.

TTB head Fincancı detained for proposing chemical weapons probe
Police have detained Şebnem Korur Fincancı, the head of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), after she called for an investigation into allegations that the Turkish military used chemical weapons in northern Iraq.
Presidential spokesperson rejects chemical weapon allegations
Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın reacted harshly to the allegations that the Turkish Armed Forces used chemical weapons.
"Chemical weapons lie is the futile effort of those who try to justify and aestheticize terrorism," Kalin tweeted on Oct. 20.

Gov’t seeks to extend tenure of Türkiye’s Chief of General Staff
The government is seeking to extend the tenure of Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, who normally should retire due to age limitations this August.
A bill submitted to parliament stipulates extending the age limit from 67 to 72 for the chief of general staff.
