Retail business data for May points to a decline in consumption despite an increase in turnover, per figures released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Tuesday.

BELGRADE - Serbia's May 2024 industrial turnover was up by 5.9 pct relative to the same month of last year, according to figures released by the national statistical office RZS.

Relative to the 2023 average, it was up by 6.4 pct.

By sectors, the mining sector registered a 68.9 pct turnover increase y-o-y, while the manufacturing industry turnover rose by 3.5 pct.

Summer sales started on Monday across Greece and will end on August 31.

Under the current law, stores can open voluntarily this Sunday, July 14, the first Sunday of the sales period, on a schedule of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

BELGRADE - Serbia's February industrial turnover was up by 11.7 pct relative to the same month of last year, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Relative to the 2023 average, it was down by 0.9 pct.

By sectors, the mining sector registered a 43.5 pct turnover increase y-o-y, while the manufacturing industry turnover rose by 10.7 pct.

The turnover of Greek hotels in 2023 saw a large increase compared to previous years, going hand in hand with the increase in tourism and inflation.
