BELGRADE -- Transparency Serbia NGO head Vladimir Goati says the new government marked the end of “advancement of party dilettantes to key decision-making positions".

New Serbian government holds first session

BELGRADE -- The new government of Serbia held its first session on Monday in Belgrade, adopting a procedural decision to withdraw bills sent by the previous cabinet.

BELGRADE - US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby has said Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic presented a very ambitious programme for the new government on Sunday, before being voted into office, and that he seems very committed to fulfilling that plan.

Aleksandar Vucic was elected as the new head of the Serbian government, vowing that his main goal is economic recovery and warning that austerity measures lie ahead.
