Strong Winds Expected along Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast

Bulgaria's weather service has issued a Code Yellow warning over heavy winds along the Black Sea coastline on Monday.

Northeastern winds will grow stronger throughout the day in all three coastal regions, namely Varna, Burgas and Dobrich.

Occasional gusts at a speed of 14-17 m/s are expected in the evening.

A tornado hit the area of Lehena and Vartholomio causing many cars to overturn and many trees to be uprooted. The road network is closed. The tornado left nothing but destruction, when it hit the area from Vartholomio up until Lehena.

A Code Yellow warning has been declared over gale-force winds in Bulgaria for April 26, Tuesday, the national weather service has said.

The measure is in force for all 28 regions of the country.

Northwest winds are expected to have an average speed of 14-19 m/s, with gusts of up to 22-24 m/s.
