Bosnian Serbs to Reinstate Cooperation With State Police

The Republika Srpska interior ministry will sign a new cooperation agreement with the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) on Wednesday after strong international criticism of the Serb authorities' decision last week to cut ties and ban the state-level police body from the entity.

Terrorist attack foiled in Serb entity in Bosnia

The Serb Republic (RS) police have prevented a terrorist attack in Janja, near Bijeljina, the Srna agency was told at the Public Security Center in Bijeljina.

Janja is also some 40 kilometers away from the town of Zvornik, where a terrorist attack was carried out earlier this year against a police station, during which an officer was killed.

Bosnian Schools Boycott Over Language Row Spreads

Parents of some 130 Bosniak children from a primary school in Krizevici near the eastern Bosnian town of Zvornik have joined a schools boycott in a dispute over the name of their language.

Pupils remained outside class as protests grew against the decision of the Republika Srpska government to rename the Bosnian language "Bosniak".

The terrorist attack on a police station in this town in the Serb entity (RS) in Bosnia-Herzegovina took place on Monday, April 27.
