Greek soccer legend Mimis Domazos, ‘the General,’ passes away at 83

Greek soccer legend Mimis Domazos, nicknamed "the General," passed away on Friday at the age of 83.

He had been hospitalized since Wednesday, his birthday, at Athens' Red Cross Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home in the Halandri suburb, north of Athens.

Greek soccer legend and Panathinaikos icon Mimis Domazos suffered a cardiac arrest on Wednesday and is currently hospitalized in critical condition.

Domazos, who turned 83 Wednesday, reportedly collapsed while walking in the Halandri area in northern Athens. He received initial first aid at a diagnostic center before an ambulance was called.

At Crown Hill Crematorium, on the western side of Milton Keynes, the funeral of George Baldock was held, with the family of Panathinaikos by the side of the 31-year-old defender in his final resting place.

His parents, siblings, and wife, devastated, stood by him on his last journey, accompanied by friends, relatives, and teammates who came to bid farewell to their beloved.

George Baldock, the Greece international soccer player who was found dead at his home in Athens on Wednesday, drowned while swimming in his pool, his family said.

Greek police said this week there was no initial indication the death of the 31-year-old former Premier League player was suspicious.
