Serbia’s Jovan Ginic Wins Cannes Rising Star Award
Serbian actor Jovan Ginic has won the Rising Star Award from the Louis Roederer Foundation at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which is presented to the best young actor, the Film Center of Serbia announced.
Ginic won the award for his lead role in Vladimir Perisic's film Lost Country.

Turkish film wins in Belgrade festival
Ercan Kesal's film "Nasipse Adayız" (You Know Him), which made its world premiere at the Rotterdam Film Festival, has received the "Best First Film Award" at the Belgrade International Film Festival.
The Turkey-Serbia co-production can now be watched on Netflix.

Serbian Filmmaker Kusturica to Visit Crimea Despite Warnings
Acclaimed Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica will perform with his orchestra on August 22 in Russian-annexed Crimea, the artist told Russian news agency Tass on Tuesday, despite threats of sanctions.
"I always do what I think is right," Kusturica told TASS, adding that he is "not frightened in any way".

BELGRADE - Famous Italian film director Paolo Sorrentino opened the 11th Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival at Mecavnik in Mokra Gora, western Serbia, late Tuesday after receiving the Tree of Life award for future films.

Italian film director Paolo Sorrentino on Tuesday opened the 11th Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival.
The event, founded by Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica, is held each year in the village of Mokra Gora, on Mt. Zlatibor, in the west of the country.
