After four years, Evangelismos Hospital in downtown Athens operates without any Covid-19 cases, hospital director and board president Anastasios Grigoropoulos announced on social media on Thursday.
Grigoropoulos described the development as "hopeful," but cautioned against premature optimism regarding the pandemic's end.
Man charged over central Athens knife attack
An Iraqi national who stabbed a 22-year-old woman in broad daylight on Friday on Ermou Street, a popular shopping spot in central Athens, has been given until Tuesday to prepare his defense.
The woman, who remained in intensive care on Saturday at the capital's Evangelismos Hospital after undergoing surgery, was stabbed in the back in what appears to have been an unprovoked attack.

Man killed in accident at US Embassy worksite
A worker has been reported killed at a construction site in the US Embassy in Athens, after being crushed by a wall on Wednesday morning.
According to TV broadcaster Skai, the man was rushed to the capital's Evangelismos Hospital where his death was confirmed.
