Man killed in accident at US Embassy worksite

A worker has been reported killed at a construction site in the US Embassy in Athens, after being crushed by a wall on Wednesday morning.

According to TV broadcaster Skai, the man was rushed to the capital's Evangelismos Hospital where his death was confirmed.

The circumstances that led to the accident are being investigated.

The unnamed worker was part of a crew working on a large-scale renovation of the US Embassy facilities that began in 2018.
