Bill tabled for new broadcaster to use ERT's premises and gear
Legislation was tabled in Parliament on Friday that will allow Greeces new public broadcaster, NERIT, to use the facilities and equipment left behind by its predecessor, ERT.
The government is rushing to be ready for the May 5 launch of NERIT and tagged an amendment onto a Finance Ministry bill submitted to the House on Friday which will allow NERIT to use ERTs former headquarters in Aghia Paraskevi, northeastern Athens, and various other sites.
The draft legislation also gives NERIT access to the equipment and archive left behind by ERT, which was shut down overnight in June 2013.
