Works from the Hermitage | Athens | To February 26
The Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens presents "The State Hermitage Museum: Gateway to History," an exhibition of works from the permanent collections of the renowned Saint Petersburg museum. The exhibition opens on Wednesday, November 2, and runs through February 26, 2017. Going on display are 80 works, ranging from ancient artifacts to paintings and sculptures, including masterpieces such as El Greco's painting of the Apostles Peter and Paul and Auguste Rodin's Cupid and Psyche. The exhibition is taking place within the "Russian Year in Greece and the Greek Year in Russia" framework of events running in both countries this year. Opening hours are Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
