Temperatures dip in Halkidiki

Drivers in mountainous parts of Halkidiki, northern Greece, were advised to use snow chains as temperatures dipped considerably Friday and snow had covered large parts of the region, authorities said.

Snow chains were essential for those traveling on the Thessaloniki-Ierissos highway via Arnaia, as well as those driving to and from Neochori, Varvara and Olympiada, among other areas, authorities added.
