Greece: 44 fires since yesterday across the country, 33 were dealt with immediately – Two arrests in Fthiotida

From yesterday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today, 44 fires have occurred, of which 33 were immediately treated at their initial stage, while firefighters are treating 11 more.

The local investigative bureaus, as well as teams of the Arson Investigation Directorate (ICD) are investigating the causes of the fires.

At the same time, the fire brigade said two people were arrested for causing a fire in Fthiotida, while six more people were fined.

Two residents were arrested yesterday by investigating officers of the Lamia Police Department, for a fire caused during the execution of hot work within a building site, in violation of the legislation, in the area of Spartia Pelasgia, the municipality of Stylida, in Fthiotida, and an administrative fine was imposed.

Administrative fines were imposed yesterday, June 27, 2024, by investigating officials on residents for violating the relevant legislation, in the area of Nikiforos, in the municipality of Paranesti, in Drama, in the location “Agios Nikolaos”, of the district of Arini, in the municipality of Zacharo, in Ilia, in the area of Nea Santa, of the municipality of Maronia Sapes, in Rodopi, in the area of Kassandreia, the municipality of Kassandra, in Halkidiki as well as in the municipality of Maroussi, in Attica.
