Golden Visa troubles for investors in Glyfada

A couple of Golden Visa holders from China who acquired a property in Glyfada in 2019 and returned to China without being able to return due to the pandemic, have come back to Greece this year only to find their 250,000-euro flat renovated and rented out to a tenant by an unauthorized property agency. 

According to a report in the Sino-Hellenic Information Post, the 100-square meter first-floor apartment in southern Athens was unexpectedly lit up and open when they visited it two weeks ago, with a Chinese tenant living inside.

Eventually the tenant left the following day, while neighbors reported they kept seeing different people moving in and out of the same flat recently.

The flat was also illegally connected to the electricity and water networks, and the property agency, unauthorized by the owner, claimed that it took the initiative to renovate and rent out...
