Exhibition 'First Day of Great War' opens in Belgrade

BELGRADE - The Museum of Genocide Victims in Belgrade prepared an exhibition titled “First Day of Great War” as part of the marking of 100 years since the beginning of World War I.

Putin Opponent Nikolay Koblyakov Detained in Sofia

Nikolay Koblyakov, described as an opposition-affiliated Russian businessman, has been arrested at Sofia Airport, authorities say.

Private national channel NOVA TV reports the operation targeting Koblyakov was carried out on Tuesday evening.

Moscow had issued in 2013 a red notice for Koblyakov over an alleged criminal offense.

Meteorologists Issue Code Yellow Warning for Rain and Hailstorms

Meteorologists issued a code yellow warning for possible torrential rains and hailstorms for seven regions in Bulgaria. 

According to the Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, on Thursday in the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Sofia City, Sofia Region, Pernik and Kyustendil are likely torrential rains, thunder and hailstorms.

Summer Storms Rip Through Croatia, Montenegro

Heavy rain struck Zagreb and the northern Medjimurje region of Croatia on Wednesday as the Western Balkan region continues to suffer more freak weather.

A brief but heavy storm ripped up trees, cut some tramlines, flooded basements and hit the Maksimir stadium, home of FC Dinamo, ripping the roof off the bench for substitutes and the protective fence.
