The price of the Gcal for the population grew from January 1st 2015 to 186.0567 RON/Gcal, from 166.169 RON/Gcal, according to a Decision by the National Authority of Regulation in Energy (ANRE), on Tuesday announced the Electrocentrale Bucharest company (ELCEN).

The Supreme Court of Justice on Friday denied an appeal against preventive detention filed by former head of the Directorate for Organised Crime and Terror Investigation (DIICOT) Alina Bica.

The court also denied the challenges of three other persons detained with Bica, namely expert evaluator Emil Nutiu, Lacrimioara Alexandru and Dragos Bogdan.

Voting has ended for the second round of the presidential elections, on Sunday evening, at 21.00.

The over 18.000 polling stations organized at a national level have closed. Voting took place between 7.00 and 21.00.

Voter turnout nationwide in Sunday's presidential runoff election as of 19:00hrs, EET, was 58.66 percent, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).

In the urban areas, turnout was 57.50 percent, while turnout in the countryside was 60.23 percent and in Bucharest City 60.25 percent.

Voter turnout nationwide in Sunday's presidential runoff election as of 13:00hrs, EET, was 27.22 percent, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).

In the urban areas, turnout was 27.58 percent, while turnout in the countryside was 26.72 percent and in Bucharest City 27.48 percent.

Dan Diaconescu, the presidential candidate of the People's Party - Dan Diaconescu (PP-DD), said Sunday, upon leaving the polling station that he voted for an overhaul of the country, from top to bottom.

Political analysts Cristian Parvulescu, Adrian Moraru, Marius Pieleanu, Alfred Bulai and Radu Magdin have commented for AGERPRES on the 2014 election campaigns.

* According to Cristian Parvulescu of the Pro Democracy Association, the billboards and especially online campaigns have proved aggressive, at least as far as Bucharest City is concerned.
