Turkish national arrested in Athens following pursuit

A Turkish national of Kurdish origin was arrested on Monday in the Agios Panteleimonas area of central Athens following a police pursuit.

The incident began when an SUV with two occupants failed to comply with a police signal to stop, prompting a chase. At one point, the two suspects attempted to escape on foot but police officers managed to apprehend one of them.

Officers found two Glock pistols, one inside the vehicle and the other in a nearby trash bin.

The investigation so far has not revealed any connection between the suspect and any previous crime.
