Herman Van Rompuy congratulates Klaus Iohannis on being elected Romania's President
President in office of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has congratulated Klaus Iohannis on being elected Romania's President in a November 16 runoff election.
In a press release issued on Monday he said that on behalf of the European Union he congratulates Mr Klaus Iohannis on being elected to the office of Romania's President.

According to data provided on Monday, November 17, 2014, by the Central Electoral Bureau, after the centralization of data from 18,673 polling stations (until 10:20 EET), representing 99.07 percent of all polling stations, the candidate of the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL), Klaus Iohannis, has garnered 54.50 percent of the votes in the second round of the presidential elections
