The Trade Ministry has launched a training program for social media influencers, allowing them to acquaint themselves with the ethical and legal guidelines that must be adhered to in marketing communications.

The Trade Ministry has received an award for its refurbished product system, introduced in 2020 to prevent waste and environmental harm, in the Consumer Protection Contest run by the World Bank and the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN).

Türkiye's exports increased by 3.2 percent in the January-September period from a year ago to reach $192.8 billion, according to data from the Trade Ministry on Oct. 3.

In the same period, the country's imports fell by 7.9 percent year-on-year to $252.9 billion.

Shipments to Australia and New Zealand amounted to $828 million in the first eight months of 2024, a 0.5 percent share in Türkiye's overall export revenues.

With restrictions on exports eased and output expected to surge this year, Türkiye's olive oil producers are focusing on large markets, such as the U.S., Australia, and Japan.

Türkiye ranks fifth in olive oil production and third in olive production globally.

A total of 43 Turkish companies entered the prestigious ENR Top 250 International Contractors list this year, with Limak ranking 48th.

Limak climbed two spots from the previous year's list.

Renaissance dropped from 38th in 2023 to 53rd this year, while Enka fell from 53rd to 54th.

The total value of projects implemented by the Turkish contracting sector abroad in eight months of this year has amounted to $11.2 billion.

According to Trade Ministry data, the Turkish contracting sector has continued its successful performance abroad despite risks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war in recent years.

Türkiye's foreign trade deficit continued to decline in August, narrowing 43.4 percent year-on-year to $4.93 billion last month, according to the Trade Ministry on Sept. 2.

This marked the lowest level of foreign trade deficit in 34 months.
