Türkiye’s 9-month exports rise 3.2 percent to $193 billion
Türkiye's exports increased by 3.2 percent in the January-September period from a year ago to reach $192.8 billion, according to data from the Trade Ministry on Oct. 3.
In the same period, the country's imports fell by 7.9 percent year-on-year to $252.9 billion.
Türkiye’s monthly exports at all-time high
Türkiye's exports hit $22.5 billion in August with an increase of 2.3 percent compared to the same period of last year, while the country's imports were down by 10.7 percent to $27.4 billion, according to provisional data announced on Sept. 27.

Ministry imposes restrictions on plug-in hybrid car imports
The Trade Ministry has imposed strict conditions on imported plug-in hybrid vehicles that are likely to affect Chinese carmakers the most.
The new regulation, which was published in the Official Gazette on Sept. 20 and takes effect in 30 days, lays out requirements for importers to meet.
Exports increase most to Australia, N Zealand in 8 months
Türkiye's exports to Australia and New Zealand soared 26 percent in the January-August period from a year ago, marking the biggest increase among all country groups, while Europe remained the largest export market.
Shipments to Australia and New Zealand amounted to $828 million in the first eight months of 2024, a 0.5 percent share in Türkiye's overall export revenues.

Türkiye ranks fifth in olive oil production and third in olive production globally.

Turkish contractors undertake $11.2 billion worth of projects abroad
The total value of projects implemented by the Turkish contracting sector abroad in eight months of this year has amounted to $11.2 billion.
According to Trade Ministry data, the Turkish contracting sector has continued its successful performance abroad despite risks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war in recent years.
Foreign trade deficit continues to shrink, shows ministry data
Türkiye's foreign trade deficit continued to decline in August, narrowing 43.4 percent year-on-year to $4.93 billion last month, according to the Trade Ministry on Sept. 2.
This marked the lowest level of foreign trade deficit in 34 months.
