BELGRADE - The Serbian government will discuss the 2015 budget on Wednesday, Serbian Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic said on Tuesday, adding that the work on the fiscal strategy will be finished in the coming days.

BELGRADE - The arrangement signed on Thursday with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will take effect from January 1, 2015, and the Serbian government now has all the elements required to plan next year's budget, says Serbian Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic.

After two weeks of negotiations, Zuzana Murgasova, head of an IMF mission, announced on Thursday that Serbia and the IMF had reached a deal on three-year standby loan for a billion euros.

Murgasova said the IMF's Executive Board was expected to approve the deal.

The International Monetary Fund said Nov. 20 it had approved a new stand-by loan for Serbia worth around one billion euros ($1.25 billion) to help it achieve economic reforms.
      

Minister: IMF arrangement almost certain

He added that the spending cuts are set to amount to 4.25 percent of GDP, or approximately EUR 1.3 billion, in the next three years.

Minister: Serbia close to deal with IMF

BELGRADE -- Minister of Finance Dušan Vujović said on Thursday that a draft budget for the next year will be put forward to the Serbian parliament by December 1.

He also announced that November 20 he will make public the result of the talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which he expects to be successful.
