BELGRADE - The friendship between the Serbs and the French, forged in the heroism of World War I, has gone through various temptations, but attempts to provide different interpretations of facts from the two countries' common past must not be allowed to reopen the gap between them, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has said.

BELGRADE -- Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala near Belgrade late on Wednesday.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic appointed Miomir Udovicki as Serbia's ambassador and head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia in NATO in Brussels.

The decree on Udovicki's appointment was issued in the latest edition of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.

NIS - US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby said on Wednesday each country had its own foreign policy and interests, and that he was not in a position to decide how many friends Serbia should have.
