Honey Prices Go Up by 20% in Bulgaria

Price of honey in Bulgaria has gone up by 20% because of the high mortality rate of honeybees, which reaches 60% and even 100% this year. According to beekeepers, about a third of the products on the market do not have the necessary qualities because they are mixed with Ukrainian and Chinese honey, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

Mysterious beehives in park overlooking Bosphorus in Istanbul raise questions

Several beehives spotted in a park between Istanbul's Dolmabahçe and Gümüşsuyu districts have raised questions on how they were placed there. 

A total of 15 beehives on five trees were spotted at the Dec. 10 Marytrs' Park, formerly known as the Freeloaders Hill, and no official has any information on the issue, daily Habertürk reported on April 7.

Mayor vows to sell 'communist honey' across Turkey

A local mayor from the Turkish Communist Party (TKP) in eastern Turkey plans to release his municipality's own home-grown "communist honey" onto the market and sell it across Turkey. 

"Those who buy the communist honey will taste good quality honey. They will get a taste of us and will become more communist," Ovacık Mayor Fatih Maçoğlu told Doğan News Agency.
