Romania's President-elect Klaus Iohannis will go on a private visit to the US, December 4-11, the National Liberal Party (PNL) reported on Monday.

Romanian President-elect Klaus Iohannis announced at news conference on Tuesday he had tendered his seat of mayor of the central Sibiu city.

"Today I have tendered my Sibiu mayor's seat. It was a necessary thing", Iohannis said.
