Jankovic through to Roland Garros third round
PARIS - Serbia's top-ranking female tennis player Jelena Jankovic reached the third round of the French Open on Thursday by beating Kurumi Nara of Japan 7-5, 6-0.
Long into the first set, the Serbian converted a breakpoint in the 11th game, turning the encounter around and disrupting her opponent's match plan.

Jankovic successful at start of Roland Garros
PARIS - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic defeated Canada's Sharon Fichman 5-7 6-1 6-3 in the first round of Roland Garros.
The match started on Monday, but it was interrupted in the second set because it was too dark.
When the match resumed, Jankovic defeated Fichman in less than an hour.

Jankovic beats Radwanska in Rome Masters WTA quarterfinal
ROME - Serbian female tennis player Jelena Jankovic qualified for the Rome Premier Masters WTA semifinal as she defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in the quarterfinal match on Friday, 2-0 (6-4, 6-4).
In the fight for the final, Jankovic will cross rackets with Italy's Sara Errani who beat world's second-ranked female player Li Na of China, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Jankovic and Kleybanova eliminated in doubles
ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Russia's Alisa Kleybanova failed to qualify for the qurterfinals in the WTA doubles event in Rome after losing to the Russian pair Ekaterina Makarova / Elena Vesnina in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 late on Thursday.

Jankovic beats Pennetta to reach quarterfinals in Rome
ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic beat Italy's Flavia Pennetta 6-2 6-3 in Rome on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.
Jankovic dominated throughout the match, earning a well-deserved victory against world number 12, her 8th in 10 matches against Pennetta.
She will next face Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland, who beat Francesca Schiavone of Italy 6-4 6-1.
Jankovic in Ro16, Kuznetsova retires
ROME - Serbia's best-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic is through to round of 16 at the WTA Rome Masters as her opponent Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia retired from their second-round match late on Wednesday.
Jankovic won the first set by 6-2, and led by 4-0 in the second when the Russian retired citing injury, 57 minutes into the match.

Jankovic, Kleybanova advance in doubles
ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Russia's Alisa Kleybanova are off to a successful start in the doubles competition of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, defeating on Tuesday the Russian-Australian pairing of Svetlana Kuznetsova/Samantha Stosur in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Ivanovic advances to quarterfinals at Madrid Open
MADRID - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic is through to the quarterfinals at the WTA Premier Mandatory event in Madrid, after beating Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.
Pavlyuchenkova, who defeated Jelena Jankovic in a marathon match Wednesday evening, did not stand a chance against the more focused and motivated opponent.

Pavlyuchenkova beats Jankovic in Madrid WTA Premier
MADRID - Serbian female tennis player Jelena Jankovic failed to qualify for the next round of the Madrid WTA Premier in as she lost the second round match late on Wednesday to Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 2-1 - 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3).
Ivanovic through to Madrid 3rd round
MADRID- Serbia's Ana Ivanovic reached the third round of the WTA Premier Series tournament in Madrid by beating compatriot Bojana Jovanovski 6-4, 6-2 late Tuesday.
Ivanovic, the more experienced and higher ranked of the two, put in a superior, more confident performance and deservedly won the match after 76 minutes, converting the first match point.
