Nikolic criticized for statement at research center ceremony

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Monday laid the cornerstone for "the Centers of Excellence" of the University of Kragujevac, in central Serbia.

With doctoral students of the Kragujevac Faculty of Medicine and future researchers at the centers, Nikolic lowered a time capsule into the foundations.

President of the SNS Executive Board Radomir Nikolic says he will support party leader and PM Aleksandar Vucic in his decision on calling early elections.

According to Nikolic - who is the mayor of Kragujevac and the son of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic - only early elections can solve "the difficult situation and an attempt to artificially polarize society."

Gendarme jailed for 40 years in double murder case

KRALJEVO -- The Higher Court in Kraljevo has confirmed the 40-year prison sentence previously handed down to Aleksandar Krstic, who was charged with double murder.

Krstic, a resident of Kraljevo, was serving as a member of the Serbian police Gendarmerie unit at the time the crime was committed, in July 2013.
